Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SOOC, operated at soocdirectory.com ("SOOC," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using this website, submitting a review, or otherwise interacting with SOOC in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use this site.
What SOOC Is
SOOC is a free, community-built directory of verified photography retreat and styled shoot reviews. We provide a platform for photographers, models, and vendors to share their firsthand experiences. SOOC is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way connected to any retreat host, photography organization, or third party listed or reviewed on the site.
User-Generated Content
All reviews, ratings, and written content submitted to SOOC are created by independent third-party users, not by SOOC. By submitting a review, you represent and warrant that:
You personally attended the retreat or styled shoot you are reviewing
The content you submit is based on your genuine firsthand experience
Your submission does not contain knowingly false statements of fact
Your submission does not include content that is harassing, threatening, obscene, or unlawful
You have the right to submit any content you provide, including any photos used as proof of attendance
Your submission does not violate the rights of any third party, including privacy rights or intellectual property rights
SOOC reserves the right to reject, or remove any submission at our sole discretion, at any time, for any reason, without notice.
Safety and inclusion ratings on SOOC reflect the subjective personal experience of the individual reviewer only. They do not constitute a factual determination, investigation finding, or official assessment by SOOC of any host, business, or venue.
SOOC's Role and Limitations
SOOC is an interactive computer service as defined under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230). SOOC is not the author, editor, or publisher of user-submitted reviews and is not responsible for the content of reviews submitted by third parties.
SOOC verifies that reviewers attended the retreat or styled shoot they are reviewing through proof of attendance. However, SOOC does not independently investigate, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or truthfulness of the specific claims, opinions, or statements made within individual reviews. Published reviews represent the personal opinions and experiences of the individuals who submitted them. They do not represent the views, opinions, or findings of SOOC.
Nothing on this site constitutes a factual determination by SOOC about any host, retreat, business, or individual.
Intellectual Property
By submitting a review to SOOC, you grant SOOC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to publish, display, distribute, and promote your review content on the SOOC platform and in connection with SOOC's marketing and social media. You retain ownership of your original content.
All other content on soocdirectory.com, including design, copy, logos, and branding, is owned by SOOC and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use SOOC to submit false, fabricated, or misleading reviews, submit reviews for retreats or shoots you did not personally attend, impersonate any person or entity, attempt to manipulate or game any rating or listing, use the platform for any unlawful purpose, scrape, harvest, or copy content from SOOC without permission, or attempt to interfere with the operation of the site or its underlying infrastructure.
Violation of these prohibitions may result in removal of your content and being blocked from future submissions.
Dispute and Removal Process
If you are a host or individual who believes a review published on SOOC contains false statements of fact about you or your business, you may contact us at soocdirectory@gmail.com with the following information: the specific review in question, the specific statement(s) you believe to be factually false, and any documentation or evidence you can provide to support your claim.
We will review your request in good faith and respond within 30 days. SOOC reserves sole discretion over whether to remove, edit, or retain any content following a dispute.
Submitting a dispute does not guarantee removal of content. SOOC does not remove reviews based solely on a host's disagreement with a reviewer's opinion or experience.
No Endorsement
The presence of any host, retreat, or styled shoot on SOOC does not constitute an endorsement by SOOC. Positive reviews do not constitute a guarantee or recommendation by SOOC. Negative reviews or low safety ratings do not constitute a factual finding or official determination by SOOC.
Disclaimer of Warranties
SOOC is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the site. Your use of SOOC is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOOC, its owner, and any affiliated parties shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of this site or any content published on it. This includes but is not limited to damages arising from reliance on any review, rating, or other content published on SOOC.
In no event shall SOOC's total liability to you for any claim exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SOOC, its owner, and any affiliated parties from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the site, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms.
Third-Party Links and Services
SOOC may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site. Links do not constitute endorsement.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of SOOC shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SOOC after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for updates.
