SOOC ("we," "us," or "our") operates soocdirectory.com, a free community directory of verified photography retreat and styled shoot reviews. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data.
What Information We Collect
When you submit a review: We collect the information you provide through our submission form, including your name (if you choose to share it), email address, Instagram handle or other contact information, your written review and ratings, and proof of attendance (a photo or booking confirmation you upload to verify you were there).
When you visit our site: Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which automatically collects standard technical data including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. We do not control this collection — it is handled by Squarespace under their own privacy policy.
When you contact us: If you email us at soocdirectory@gmail.com, we retain that correspondence.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you submit to verify your attendance at a retreat or styled shoot, publish your review (with only the information you consent to share publicly), respond to your questions or requests, and improve the platform.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your information for any purpose other than operating SOOC.
What Is Published vs. What Stays Private
Your proof of attendance (photo or booking confirmation) is used for verification only. It is never published, never shared publicly, and never shown to the retreat host or any third party.
Your name is only published if you explicitly indicate you are okay with that in your submission. If you choose to remain anonymous, your review is published without any identifying information.
Your email address is never published.
Third-Party Services
SOOC uses the following third-party services to operate:
Tally — our review submission form is built on Tally (tally.so). When you submit a review, your data passes through Tally's servers. Tally's privacy policy can be found at tally.so/privacy.
Airtable — submitted reviews and associated data are stored in Airtable. Airtable's privacy policy can be found at airtable.com/privacy.
Squarespace — our website is hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace's privacy policy can be found at squarespace.com/privacy.
We do not control the privacy practices of these third parties and encourage you to review their policies.
Data Retention
We retain submitted reviews and associated verification data for as long as the review is published on SOOC. If you request removal of your review, we will delete your review content and associated personal data within 30 days. Proof of attendance documentation is deleted once your review is verified and approved.
Your Rights
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your review and associated personal data, and withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

California Residents — CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. EU and UK Residents — GDPR
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation including the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. Children's Privacy
SOOC is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at soocdirectory@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information submitted to us. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to contact us if you have concerns about any data you have shared.
Reviews and User-Generated Content
Reviews published on SOOC represent the personal experiences and opinions of verified attendees. SOOC verifies proof of attendance but does not independently verify the accuracy of individual claims made in reviews. Published reviews do not represent the views or opinions of SOOC.
If you believe a review contains false or defamatory information about you or your business, please contact us at soocdirectory@gmail.com with the specific concern and we will review it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of SOOC after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
