Every review includes safety and inclusion ratings so photographers can see upfront how welcome they felt as themselves. Hosts who consistently create genuinely safe, welcoming spaces will stand out, and that's by design.
We built SOOC with queer photographers and photographers of color at the center. A community where everyone feels at home is better for every host, every attendee, and the whole industry.

Respond to a review
If one of your retreats has been reviewed on SOOC, you have the opportunity to respond publicly. Host responses appear directly on the review, so future attendees can hear your perspective alongside the reviewer's experience!
A thoughtful host response often says more about you than a five-star rating ever could.
We believe in transparency on both sides, especially when a review is a critical one.
Email soocdirectory@gmail.com with the subject line "Host Response" and include the name of your retreat, the review you're responding to, and your response. We'll verify it's you and add it to the listing within a few business days.
Email a host responseWe will not publish responses that are defensive, dismissive, or attack the reviewer.
Responses are permanent once published. Think carefully before sending.
We reserve the right to decline any response that doesn't meet our community standards.
